This customer decided to give his Mustang a little bit more power and a bigger growl.
We started out by swapping the OEM intercooler with a biiger REVO intercooler. Which gave the car the ability to deal with heat soaking a lot better then stock version. This will be easily noticeable on the hot summer days, driving the car hard for long periods and on consecutive dyno runs. On the OEM intercooler the ECU will pull timing from the engine when the tempratures are getting to hot which will result in less horsepower. With this intercooler we have far better solution and prevent this up to a certain level.
Below some images for comparison. As you can see on the first picture size wise there is a big difference. Not just in height but also in thickness. And their air is distributed more evenly.
Next up was the stock air intake and the tubing. The stock tubing creates a lot of turbulent air into the turbo which results in less airflow. With revo’s silicon hose and foam filter upgrade we removed this restriction and increased the airflow towards the turbo.
The car had already received some roush rear silencers with new tip before it came to use. To create a little more sound and add some horsepower(with tuning).
Below you can see the end results from our dyno run.
A few sounds clips and from revving and the dyno run. The actual sound the car:exhaust makes is hard to tell on the dyno due to the rolls and fans creating a lot of background noise.
