One of our customers came in for a Milltek exhaust and a stage 1 tune.
Unfortunately his car was dealt a bad card from the factory.
His IS20 turbo was one of the revision which are known to fail prematurely and was already showing symptons.
So we advised to have it fixed before any major damage could be caused once it really failed.
We offered him the option to replace it with a new OEM IS20 or upgrade it to one of our IS20 Hybrid upgrades rated at 360-380HP.
The customer chose to go for the hybrid upgrade and create some options for later.
Upon removal of the OEM turbo we noticed there already some pieces missing from the exhaust side turbine.
And there was excessive oil present in the turbo inlet.
Which meant we had to inspect further and clean up where needed.
After some cleaning and oil and oil filter change we made sure everything was working as intended before testing it.
Another happy customer who was finally able to enjoy his Stage1 tune.
